Well done on the 2:1 anyway!
I got a 2:1, likewise after [LIFTED] up my 2nd year with illness and then having to try and catch up with the class - the 3D modelling really was the bare minimum in the end. Otherwise I'd have been on for a first as well.
Still, it's not what you know now, it's how you apply it.

I absolutely agree.

Being one of the few to get a placement as part of my sandwich course I feel the real world experience set me up well for my final year.

Even more considering I have a (semi) related job that I start on Monday, and 2 others (who got firsts) who got jobs. I think one of the other people who had a first was laid off (who already had a degree) as well recently.

I'm a Leeds Festival nut :P (Not been in 2 years mind) but I'm used to the work grind and actually enjoyed it over uni :)

When I look around the people getting firsts on my course - probably 70% of them are totally unemployable. Literally no social skills, to the extent that it's impossible to talk to them about anything except the latest graphics chipsets or some obscure protocol.

Well that might change once the office politics becomes an issue. Though until then enjoy yourself.

Does anyone know why it is that when I visit google.co.uk the link for gmail at the top of the page changes, seemingly at random?

Sometimes it says mail. Sometimes it says gmail and sometimes it says Google Mail.

Any ideas?

Old Spice adverts in the Metro this morning gave me a chuckle. They seem to be speaking to the bast**d in me. For example:-

YOU CAN'T BUY OLD SPICE AT girlybathroomsupplies.com OLD SPICE IS FOR MEN. YOU BUY IT IN A SHOP.

and

YOU DON'T WANT YOUR SHOWER GEL TO SMELL OF UNICORNS AND RAINBOWS. IT SHOULD SMELL OF JET FIGHTERS AND PUNCHING.

(p.s. for best effect imagine Jeremy Clarkson reading them)

Holy crap, that brings back memories. Not been there since the 90's, not sure when, sometime before 96. It's all a bit of a haze TBH. :D
