Kevin Russell at Three said he regretted using the term "unlimited" to describe data packages as it was not "the reality of the market place".

"One of the dumbest things I've done is talk about 'unlimited' data when it's not," he said.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Woha what's with the negativity? At least he, unlike every other network, has admitted it.

When my sister was with Three, she had to stick her head out of her flat window to make a phone call.

Doesn't seem to be uncommon for Three customers.

As for the original quote - good on him I say. He isn't to blame, it's Ofcom who should have sorted this sort of thing out.

When your competiters are using terms like unlimited even though they offer the same packages (or very very similar) you don't really have any choice but to use the same terminology.

No, you can say the truth and get more respect from your customers.

Not just Ofcom but the ASA as well. Both are responsible for the "unlimited" fiasco. They should have clamped down on it to stop it being abused. Also Virgin should be banned from using it with their broadband. It clearly is not unlimited with a 12 hour cap.

The big players in the market seem to think otherwise

Wasn't the network named after the number of customers that'd be able to use their phones at the same time.

It's getting us ready for the obvious language change that adverts will be using in the coming months, I think.
