The most effective poison to use against rats is lead. Fired from both barrels of a shotgun.

I wonder if they will be immune to ar5enic...That's what we used when we had rats back home...

For a minute there I thought this was a story about lawyers, but oh well.
There are plenty more toxic substances that they could try on the rats. If they can make people believe that tofu is food then I'm sure they could make a rat believe that sheep dip is a tasty beverage...

Rats have good collective consciousness. If you shoot a couple, the others get anxious and can sometimes die of stress. Its still legal to own an Air Rifle (under 12lbs) so that would be the best countermeasure. Our local council seems to have revised its crap bin scheme so more rubbish is sitting about for longer, and I have noticed more rats.

Plymouth City Council used to have a good approach with regards to rats. Rather than bait the surface, they would bait the sewers (with the help of water companies). The rat population plunged by over 60%.

Cool, I think rats are fantastic.
Rather than worrying about super rats we should look into how they are so successful as a species.

I like your thinking. <brainstorm mode> Perhaps we could genetically engineer rats so that their urine and faeces carry beneficial drugs, so that when they crap and p!ss everywhere human food is kept we can dose the population with vaccines and stuff. Stops there, before methods of controlling human populations enters her head. </brainstorm mode>

Simple, they'll [LIFTED] anything, including their own parents and siblings. Personally I think the human race is far more successful...although we have our own fair share of rodents.

Just because he was always unappreciated We live near a railway line that also doubles as a skip, so we see our fair share of long-tailed gits

I wonder how many male rats have heard the line "not tonight dear, I have a headache"??? And I wonder how many male rats have turned around and said "you've had this headache for 3 months, see a doctor!"
