Well, and there's no 25 years anyway.

The BD release will be on the 25th anni of release, but the movie plots operate on 30yr gaps and then 100yrs.

But this all started from a Doc. Brown line of dialogue.
Still, we have five years to wait before we get hover boards and flying cars.

Well I'm not convinced, I don't think Doc mentions 25yrs at any point. I think somebody's gotten confused between the 25th anni BD release and Doc saying July 4th as the first date.

Looking forward to the hover boards and flying cars, but tbh Mr. Fusion and hydrating pizzas are far more exciting.

This online script would say otherwise.
I guess only actually watching the film (or scene) again will determine if it's correct or not.

I thought the link I posted mentioned 25 (forward) years because Doc wanted to find out who won the World Series, but went 30 back to see himself come up with the flux-capacitor. No mention of why he decided on 30 years forward in the end though.

Yep, same snippet of dialogue in your link as what I was referring to in the script clicky above.

Ok, I was correct. The time circuits are only set for the dates I mentioned earlier. However, the Doc does talk about 25yrs into the future. Of course, he was never "preparing to set the time circuits". He just stood beside the Delorean with Marty filming him until Einstein alerts them to the arrival of the Libyans.

When I referred to 30yrs and 100 being central to the plots, I meant 1955/1985/2015 and then 1885. So although the Doc talks about it, the time circuits were never set for 2010 and even then 25yrs into the future would've been October 26th 2010, not July (which is of course the movie's original release date). I think however, the BD release is being doing on October 26th 2010 as the 25th anniversary of the events at Twin Pines Mall at 1:15am.

Hope that clarifies. Back to work now..... :(

We need to got the voting started on the photo competition. If it goes on much longer there won't be time to take photos for this months competition.

Just realised, though I'm only really repeating what Okenobi said, but the time circuits are never set to the 25 years in the future that Doc wants to go as the Libyans interrupt him when it's set to 1955, which is why Marty goes back to 1955. I assume Doc was going to change the date when he got in the car. As we said earlier, the film is set in October, so we can only assume that he would have gone to October 2010, though he may have chosen New Year's Day.

Further discussion and photoshopped pic here though half these people shouldn't consider themselves fans as they don't seem to understand what it's all about!

Result, just been told I'm one of the three people to have passed the test for Toshiba Onsite, so I'll be doing some more interesting training very soon. No payrise as of yet, but a very important step if you want to become a manager...
