The only memorable part of the film for me was the guy bouncing of the propellor on his way to an icy grave.

No, it was as the stern was rising just before the final plunge. At that point all of the boilers had failed so no chance of a good blending. However the victim was given a little circular motion after colliding with said propellor. Strange how I can remember that.

Not fussed, really. It’s a film I’d watch again, but I’d not put something off to do so. There is a lot of CGI in the film, so it’s very likely that Cameron already has a good framework on which to hang 3D.
It’s always good to play “spot the Poser figure” with that film!

I'll probably go to see it, if it comes out. I've always had a strong interest in the Titanic story, and I'll see it for that reason, not the rather dull love story.

Hmmmm....
Without the love story (whether you like it or not) there literally is ZERO story. It becomes a 3hr documentary where a boat sinks. It's through the eyes of the Jack and Rose that we get to see 3rd and 1st class and understand what that was all about with all the people drowned etc.
I'm not saying the film is great, but don't imagine taking the central plot away would make it better. That's just silly!

Without the love story it would be a much more agreeable 1hr documentary.
