See, I don't understand that. I only eat what I know, if I had to, I could kill. I am constantly reassessing whether I should be eating some meats because of that. I'm getting more and more inclined to stop eating mammals. Chickens, no problem, but then they're birds. It's harder to wring the neck of a cow.

My GF's Finnish so yes, yes I have. Elk is nicer, probably the nicest meat I've tasted. The wolves will vouch for that, it's the main part of their diet and they polish off, on average, over one a month, per wolf in Finland.

I'm sorry, but even that bit sounds like the beginning of a text joke

As the Bill Bailey joke goes - "An Englishman, an Irishman and a Scotsman walk into a pub. The Welshman, in the corner, says "Hullo", and pays no further part in the proceedings..."

Not had it for years. Just can't face it seeing as every year we going to my GFs family's summer house and every year we pass the new season's mum elk with baby elk in the woods at dusk just off the dirt road. Lovely things, frickin massive though!

Well I have not seen one in the wild yet. Even when I was staying in Lorüdden which is ten miles from the nearest town it was rare to see them. I never saw one in months there. It has been years since I have eaten Elk. Hmmmm yummy.

I think there's only been one year out of the last 10 that we've not seen one on the way to the summer house. It's only 10/15 minutes from the centre of the 2nd largest city in Finland but it's just woods by a lake and the road through the trees is very small and quiet. Beyond those woods is just more wilderness so they're pretty much undisturbed. Saw a wolverine last year which was cool. There are also bats living in the sauna who come out to fly around your head at night. Not seen a bear yet, just the claw marks on the trees.
