Whenever I've played in the past the first thing I do is go to the settings and turn off all the driving aids.

Steering assist, braking assist, racing line, etc...

I can't stand them.

QFT

The one that really p*sses me off is the braking control - FECK OFF! :x

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Oh dear, I feel a track editor would be a waste.

I wonder if the real life test track times will fall now that stars in a reasonably priced car will be able to practice the course beforehand.

Will the game have any of the reasonably priced cars?

Can you play the game as the Stig?

Gran Turismo 5 'could be PS4 game'

There is hyperbole, and then there is confidence in the the most patiently-awaited game of the 21st Century.

Take your pick on which applies to Polyphony Digital boss Kaz Yamauchi, who told OPM in its splendid new issue:

"The level of precision we've achieved [in GT5] is actually more suited to the next generation of machines."

Wowsers. He didn't stop there, either. Referring to the 200 'premium' cars offered within the title, Yamauchi added:

"The detail that goes into a premium model [has] gone beyond the level of the current PlayStation."

Yep, you read that correctly. It's TOO MUCH FOR PS3.

To be fair, Yamauchi may have something of a point. OPM reports that 'GT5 accurately models mechanical and cosmetic damage to an absurd degree, and whilst the classic models will buckle and crumple, those newer models will near-disintegrate'.

If you're a racing fan, November 2 can't come soon enough.

Until then, check out OPM's spanking six-page GT5 preview in its latest issue, which hits stores this week.

They'd better hope this sells
