GRRR!!
I live next to a school, and my entrance/driveway is considered by all and sundry as a perfectly legitimate place to park and then idly rabbit with the other idle rabbiters as long as desired every morning and every afternoon during term times (this despite the A3 sized NO PARKING sign on my gate and the very clearly painted KEEP CLEAR road markings). And as soon as one leaves then another will take their place – ad infinitum........ When I moved here 16 years ago there were 25 pupils, now there are 146 pupils + lots more teachers + umpteen teachers' assistants – all with cars – and zero extra parking provided... There used to be daffodils and grass growing under the tree by my driveway, now there is mud and horrific chaos. Be warned – the police will not be on your side if you remonstrate with these inconsiderate [lifteds] – you are in the wrong for being so unreasonable as to object about not being able to access your property without let or hindrance as and when required to go about your legitimate business – it is your fault for living there. You should be utterly ashamed that you even think that you have any rights of access whatsoever, the rights of the great, fat, lazy, unwashed, inconsiderate, evil [lifteds] are by far more important than yours as a resident....

So someone is carefully driving along the road and all of a sudden your wing mirror jumps out and hits their car. How very inconsiderate. To add insult to injury your poorly maintained wing mirror (i.e. cracked) has probably scratched their immaculate paintwork. I suggest in the future you park your car away in a field somewhere so no more instances of wing mirror attack occur. May I also suggest you track down the driver (using CSI skills learned from simply watching the show) and compensate him.

We live on a private, unmade road. It is possible to use it as a short cut, and some cars do so, generally big 4x4s. It's clearly signed at both ends as being a dead end. Problem is they do it at 30mph+ and it's [LIFTED] up the road surface (such as it is). When we spoke to the council, they're attitude was "Yup, you put bollards in if you like, build a wall across it, we don't mind." Which is good sport, I feel.

Erm, by turning off the main road onto our track, past the Dead End signs? You can then drive down it and pop out onto another road.

I've had punters park on my driveway whilst visiting somebody in the next street I just park behind them blocking their exit and when they ask me to move I politely refuse until they call the police. PC Thompson (a very good friend of the family) then turns up and proceeds to check all their details and go over their car checking for faults Ironically, the punters seem to get upset with this inconvenience......... There are two issues I think
1. People turning around 2. People parking / blocking your driveway
For people turning around .... well that’s life, it’s not an inconvenience to you
For people Parking there that’s something else as they are trespassing. And by all means block them in
For robin re the grass etc in front of your houser – is this on your property on just the grass verge in front of your house that is owned by the council
If its yours then a good way to stop them, without it being to unsightly is some very large rocks. It will costs a couple of quid to get them delivered but it will stop them driving up onto the verge. Of course if its council owned then you have no rights over the land

I wasn't 100%, but my initial reaction was because it looked like a soccer mom wagon from that shot. I would've said a Renault, but the more I think about it, that swage line doesn't match. Could be an old Vito, I suppose. Now you've got me doubting myself!!

You know, Scenic, Espace, one of those type of things. The perspective of the shot, made the angle of the windscreen and wing looked more sloped and so a "van" shape cam to mind. Nice Oli That explains it. I didn't think you needed anything that big and the engine bay on that thing is minuscule! Hence the way it slopes off in the pic. Doh!

Just claim you've had a bottle of wine with your meal and they should come back in the morning, when the effects have worn off and you can legally drive again...

If someone abandons their vehicle on what is clearly your driveway, does that make it yours? Would you get in trouble for blocking their attempts to recover it?
