Mark Hamill's done with Batman: AA's Joker after the upcoming game

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/ar ... ?id=248449

I can see his point, but I suspect they'll just get someone else in - you need an uber-villain with character (even if they only pop up occasionally), Lex Luthor, Green Goblin...

I thought that there would have been a new evil boss. Maybe the riddler, with lots more riddle-type stuff. Or the penguin, since be was barely in the last game.

I'd like to see Two-Face get good screentime, and I wouldn't mind some of the assassins getting a look-in; Bane, Deadshot, Zeiss (below)...

I could see it being a gang war if the teaser trailer was anything to go by, maybe Two-Face and Black Mask, with everybody else popping up as you'd expect :D

Rocksteady reflects on Arkham Asylum 'mistakes'

Quote:
The Bafta Award winning Batman: Arkham Asylum encouraged most players to stay in Detective Mode for long periods - something the title's developer Rocksteady has labelled a "mistake".

In a talk at Brighton-based conference Develop yesterday, the studio's art director David Hego joked that he wanted "to cry a little bit" when hearing of people playing the majority of the game in the mode - as it meant they missed out on much of the title's fantastic art style.

"It was a gameplay decision to make detective vision so strong...we're going to try not to do that mistake again" said Hego.

He also revealed some small details about how they plan to approach 'detective vision' in Arkham Asylum 2.

Hego suggested Batman's all-powerful bad-guy stalking ability will be a little more subtle the second time around as they plan to "make it more like augmented reality next time".

Hego delved into more detail on the tricks used to direct the player and explained how the team used stylised realism to overcome the 'uncanny valley' barrier.

"One of the big advantages of the stylised realism was we were jumping across the uncanny valley... By making [the characters] so stylised, you can forget about uncanny valley because you accept that it's not real."

Warner recently snapped up a number of Arkham Asylum related domains that have ignited speculation on what the next title may be.

I spent way too long in Detective Mode - I was tracking down/afraid of missing the riddles mostly

I spent a lot less time than most others in detective mode. Literally would stick it for five seconds and turn it off. A better idea would be to have it 'recharge' so you use it for upto 30 seconds and it depletes and you have to recharge.

I would also like to be able to replay the game with everything unlocked once completed.

The UK's Official Xbox Magazine will reveal the first details of Warner's hotly anticipated Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 (proper name TBC, of course) in its October issue - which will hit shelves on Thursday, September 2nd.

And PlayStation fans won't miss out either - with Official PlayStation Magazine revealing PS3-related deets on the very same day.

The Next Month page in OXM's current issue promises: 'No joke: The first details and screens of Rocksteady's stunning sequel.'

We like the sound of stunning. The first game blew us away - we'd be very surprised if this doesn't manage the same.

Little is known about Arkham Asylum 2's content - although bad guys Two-Face, Mr. Freeze and Talia al Ghul have been outed.

Oh yes :D

Some cool shots there.

Harley looks a lot skinnier now. I did like the plump Harley. Batman looks like he's been dosing on 'roids in some of the shots. Didn't he have scalloped bits on his gloves or am I imagining things? Love how all of the henchmen are completely tanked.

Yip, scalloped bits on the gloves.

Batman: Arkham City. Not out until 2011. But you can get this behind-the-scenes interview right now

Still reading this myself, this game should be amazing! :D

I didn't spot them first time. For some reason I expected the scalloped bits in the main part of the glove like in TDK film, not at the back where they are in this game.
