AFAIK entry to every roundabout is via a give way line on the road, regardless of there being any other signage. As such I prepare to give way to traffic already on, and traffic joining from the right. I'll only stop if I have to.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

I'm a crap passenger.

Those of you who have me as a friend on Facebutte will have seen my furious rant about people who do not know the width of their cars.

My ex was bleedin' terrifying. No concept of speed or the car's abilities.

It's been my observation that people (regardless of gender) who drive a lot themselves tend to be worse passengers than those who don't. People who're used to being in control of a vehicle don't like not being in control.

I think that those who drive for a living make better drivers, I might exclude taxi drivers, but generally those who drive a lot are better drivers, regardless of sex.

As for insurance figures saying women are, no they just have smaller claims because when they have a prang it is generally at low speed.

I didn't say people who drive a lot are bad drivers I said they were more likely to be bad passengers which would skew their responses to the survey.

Generally. There are a few quirks, such as this one near where I live; from the east and north it's a normal roundabout, from the west you fly right onto it.

Of course, now that you have shown one, I have got a better idea of some of the roundabouts like that. I'm pretty sure that there is a strange one something like that on the outskirts of Chester, but there are traffic lights thrown into the mix as well.

Actually I did not disagree with you. I do think that those who drive a lot can be very bad passengers.

That reminds me of this one. Although having seen it from above now it isn't as confusing as some people seem to make it when driving through it.

This is actually not far down the A38 from my overtaking truck incident. That was going southbound on this part of the A38.

The Magic Roundabout in Hemel is always good for a laugh. So many mini-roundabouts that the central island is effectively a large roundabout that you use in the wrong direction.

In Spain you actually have to stop ON the roundabout to let people on to it which I found rather bizarre. Also if you pull up to a junction and don't physically stop even if there is nothing coming then you can get a ticket.

A stop sign means stop in this country as well, fortunately we have give way signs in the majority of cases.

You have to for one of the entries onto a 3 entry/exit roundabout near home. For the other 2 it's just a standard roundabout.

Uhm, yes, but if I can see the road I'm pulling on to is clear, while going at a slow enough speed to stop if needs be, I'll make sure it is *actually* clear and carry on in second or whatever is suitable. Other roads you have to fully stop and creep slowly into the road to see the damn thing. Then either be ready on the brakes or give it a hoof-full and get out of the way pronto. Depends on the junction really.

Or you could assume that the people who decided it needed to be a Stop not a Give Way knew what they were talking about...

If it says stop then by all means carry on if those are you wishes, just don't complain if you get a fine or endorsement. Same with most traffic offences really.
