The iPood, a small spade used by Aussie campers to bury their [LIFTED], has a new name following an intervention by Apple lawyers.

In a letter to the iPood makers, Apple's legal eagles said: "iPood is clearly similar to Apple's iPod, there being merely a single letter difference."

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Well I can see why Apple are doing it. They would not like their products like with the faecal matter no matter how much the open source crowd say it is. :D

TBf, you're going to notice pretty fast whether you're holding an iPood right nor not.

Wait, so Apple will stop me releasing a product called the Pod that is in no way similar to the iPod just because it's just 1 letter difference to the iPod?

What a bunch of tards, someone needs to put them in their place

They've got to be seen to be defending their trademarks, in the same way that Google had to say that "to Google" is not a general verb meaning "to search online" or whatever it was.

Yes - Apple’s lawyers have been going after sites and products with the letters “pod” in the order for a long time. Even websites which have been about and fairly complimentary to the iPad have had to change their names. iPodlounge is now iLounge.

Let’s put this into perspective. This level if idiocy is practiced by other companies too. T-Mobile famously owns the colour magenta - use this on your web site, and their trademark lawyers will be down on you like a tone of bricks. Why? They’ve trademarked it in the realm of electronic communications - and web sites.

We can only hazard a guess over who owns the colour orange.

If a company uses the colour orange and has nothing to do with telecommunications then WTF do Orange have to complain about?

With Apple, does it really care that much if their customers can't discern between a media player or a [LIFTED] shovel? Or are they concerned that the product may be (skid) marking their own brand? I think that the only people who may not see through the joke/charade would be complate retards, and if this is the customer base that Apple is trying to protect then good luck to them.

Maybe even Roald Dahl.

And Paul, that brunette in the centre reminds me of Zelda from Terrahawks.

Strange, I normally prefer brunettes. :?
