Well I've been off work sailing around Falmouth bay all day in a racing championship. So 2 or 3 or 4 o'clock were all irrelevant :)

I'm gunna hit the big time next week - I won a lottery online and the nice Nigerian man is going to bring me the winnings in cash.

I had to send him £3000 for flights, security and insurance for the cash to be delivered but I'm really excited. :D

How's this for flamin' cheek? You'll like this...

I didn't get the job I went for today. Apparently they found someone more experienced than me...

23 years of experience in IT and they found someone who could do 1st and bloody 2nd line support for ten fricking pounds an hour who is actually better than me! And it was an hour and a half drive from my house. Mainly down pissy A roads!

Looking on the bright side, I won £7.40 on the Euro millions tonight, so that's alright then. :D The tickets cost £4.00

I feel your pain. I fear, however, this is a symptom of the times. Employers don't think "older" experienced people are as good as younger "cheaper" people.

I'm getting much the same impression in my job hunting. I'm not even getting to the interview stage. Perhaps I should lie about my age on my CV.

You don't have to include your age on your CV, and I'm almost certain it's illegal for employers to ask for your age.

Interesting. In my younger day it was important to add all relevant detail on your CV.

I actually stop short of my bank details and NI number...

Of course, you can always take the view that it's the prospective employer's loss if they don't take you on. You're obviously destined for better things. :x

First time I was threatened with redundancy the company brought in recruitment consultants to assist us in finding another job. Naturally they covered CV writing and said specifically not to include your age or DoB on your CV. It's irrelevant and can be argued to be in breach of age discrimination legislation for the majority of jobs.
The only place an employer can legitimately ask for it during the recruitment process is for equal opportunities monitoring which should be confidential and form no part of the selection process (whether you believe that is true or not).
