Small funny failboat..... Not good enough methinks. Maybe a medium sized failboat..... Nope. This calls for a super-tanker sized portion of massive fail...... And for the record I dont believe it was a hoax. I think the Daily Star made it all up.

I doubt that the Daily Star would have made it up, but these things can be easily made up by some one and the journalists simply failed to fact check. It happens all the time.

Haven't read the DS in ages, but the Mirror the other day had stories with no less than three 'insiders' apiece that, handily enough, gave the article a bit of narrative

Good lord, that hoax is even stupider than the one that the Sun fell for about the Red Arrows being banned from the Olympics.

Papers, especially the popularise ones, are far too easy to bait. Just imagine something which will inflame middle England's sensibilities, or consider what may rile Nick Griffin, and off you go.

Raoul Moat GTA writer ridicules gamershttp://www.computerandvideogames.com/ar ... ?id=256717 And of course, that was before: Daily Star apologises 'unreservedly' over GTA: Raoul Moathttp://www.computerandvideogames.com/ar ... ?id=257019That has to be the most in-depth apology I've ever seen over something like a 'potential' video game - Rockstar must have scared them sh1tless

And a very fast settlement. They knew that they would lose in court. So settled very fast.

It's not like Rockstar lose much anyway, it's how they get publicity for their work... because it's controversial

For the company they will be getting lots of publicity because of this. Their customers would not be getting their information from the Daily Star, but those who might consider banning the genre might. This is probably more against that segment rather than influencing their customers.
