Hmm, I suspect the lawsuits would be plentiful if that happened

Though I think 'obese' sounds more shocking than 'fat' to be honest - and why not use both? :?

or
"You is obese, fatty"

Salad dodging? I don't need to dodge it, it just sort of bounces off.

Obese is a clinical term, why shouldn't the NHS use it?

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Because it might hurt someone's feelings

On a serious note they need to stop using the f*cking BMI index, it's genuinely worthless as a piece of measuring whether someone needs to lose weight or not. Christian Bale in Batman was clinically obese on a BMI index in that film. They should look at what actually clearly matters, fat %, lifestyle and eating/exercise habits. Studies show that 'overweight' (and what IS overweight? Above the mean as everyone is different) people who exercise are healthier than people within the bell curve of normality who don't

BMI is quick and dirty but it saves a lot of time and therefore money.

standing on scales then standing against some height measuring device vs standing on scales that calculate your fat %

It might be quick, but it's so dirty a mirror is honestly a better solution
hmmm

The measurement of fat requires more than standing on a balance.
