If they did the same for cycle lanes, it would be a start...

Cycle lanes would benefit locals. So I would be in support of that. This whole scheme looks like causing chaos for locals who will have their work and business disrupted considerably for the duration of the games. If it is such a problem get them there earlier. :roll:

What will these lanes be used for after the Olympics? To me, this rather smacks of the centre lanes in Russia, which used to be reserved for senior members of the Communist party.

Well the ruling coalition will not use them. They never go to the poor areas.
