What is interesting is that there does not appear to be any passage of time in the Simpsons' world, yet I have just watched the episode on vid this week where Apu and his wife have eight babies, not surprisingly nine months after conception- and yet maggie is still an infant. Their house is actually a TARDIS. Which stands for Time and Relative Dimension in Simpsons.  It is a good point though. Although they do have a flash-forward episode where they are all grown up and Maggie is a grunge chick in high school. (or something)
