Erm, what's the problem? It's just a job ad like any other surely? :?

I don't see any reason to ban the ads.

I'd be interested to see if the ban includes advertising for male strippers. if not, they could be in trouble.

+1, as long as it's not one of the roles where they stop your benefits if you refuse to apply for it.

Add that to "hard workers" not being allowed to be advertised for in some places.

It is supposed to be anti sexist, but depriving women of highly paid work is not good. No wonder woman;s pay lags behind mens because they are not allowed to strip to get ahead.

If its legal then you should be allowed ( forced) to advertise it in Job Centers

Agreed. Though will the "moral" Tory party accept that fact?

No it's not.

Mr. Minister was on the news this morning saying that it's "to protect some of the most vulnerable people in our society".

There's a 'useful for all occasions' excuse if ever I saw one. And a pretty obviously spurious one at that. Are women with jobs in strip clubs the most vulnerable people in our society? I somehow think not. Plus if women are going to work in the... adult entertainment industries, doing so in a job where there are distinct and enforced limits as to how far the job goes in a licensed and inspected premises seems to me a lot safer and less vulnerable than doing so 'on the street' as it were.

And don't tell me that not advertising these jobs in job centres is going to somehow contribute to the end of the sex industry. It just isn't, and you'd have to be startlingly naive to think it would.

Mr. Minister's point was that there are many using the Jobcentres who are, shall we say, intellectually challenged and that he didn't want them mistakenly thinking that they had to apply for these jobs in order to get benefits.

If they applied for the jobs but did not get them, that would still mean that they fulfilled the requirement to apply for work. There was a case of a guy applying for jobs that he was clearly unsuitable for simply because he kept the letters of rejection to show that he had applied for work to keep his benefit.
