I'm sorry, but it's his own stupid fault. The officers in question have my full support in the witch hunt which is bound to come in these PC (no pun intended) times.

Yes this looks like an accident. The kid should not have jumped the barrier. The police did nothing wrong here.

Hang on, since when do you get boys at the age of twenty?

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

My feelings go out to the train driver, who seems to have been ignored in this report! I hope he is getting good counselling.

I agree with the others, the man effectively committed suicide, it was his own fault, the police don't seem to have any guilt in this matter, going by the evidence so far.

The headline is a bit wrong isnt it? "Police chase boy killed by train". I imagine they didnt have to chase much once he was killed by the train.

The train drivers are often forgotten in this kind of incident. I hope he gets the help he needs as well.

Headline Fail. It should read something more like:

"Pillock punished by 300 tonne Bitchslap"

AFA I'm concerned, being able to vote doesn't make you a man.

Adulthood starts at 21 imo.

Hell yeah! Made it!

I think it varies. I know some people who were more mature at 18 than I am now. And I'm better IRL than I am on here. I also know some irresponsible, lazy slackers still at uni at 23, that couldn't possibly be described as mature.

Talking about this on the platform today, would appear that the driver will get some sort of payout and some leave, if it happens again it's more payout and more leave, if it happens a third time they are off the job and paid for life.

Yes but that I think is an urban legend. Mackenzie Crook did a film about such a case. British Rail and London Underground made some comment about it not being the case.
