Activision's Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is now the top selling game in UK history.

That's according to data from UK sales monitor GfK Chart-Track, which said the Infinity Ward developed shooter has surpassed unit sales of previous record holder Dr Kawashima's Brain Training in 41 weeks, or around ten months.

The company didn't provide actual sales numbers for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC FPS, but did note that DS exclusive Dr Kawashima took 36 months to overtake previous record holder Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

That's the kind of success which demands a sequel, and supports suggestions Activision could charge for some elements of online play when the latest Call Of Duty game, Black Ops, launches this November.
