But that's the point of the argument Mark and I have been having. You *can* have a straight conversation with a woman, perhaps not the one you were talking about specifically, but that one woman isn't the same as all women. If the woman you are trying to talk to isn't listening properly then you have 2 choices, either keep explaining your point in different ways until she gets it or give up and find something else to talk about.

I'll have a fiver on Zippy, having one arm in a fight is surely still better than being an egg.

Hope there's some popcorn left and a comfy seat.

My betting's on Zippy too but don't tell Mark that... mind you would he hear if you told him? oh no you're a man not a woman lol

How wonderfully simple Zippy. It's blatantly not that easy!

Or beat some sense into the daft cow. It's the only thing they understand.

Have you ever tried re-explaining the same point 10 different ways until a woman admits she's wrong? Seriously... it just doesn't happen. It takes a man to admit they're wrong; women just aren't wired that way.

Indeed, when it starts dawning on them that they're wrong or they didn't understand then many women tend to get very aggressive or try and change the subject even if they started the conversation.

Edit: Note the use of the word 'many' rather than 'all'. ;)

Well guys, it's been working for me for the past 12 years, I appear to be less frustrated and more at peace than you so clearly it can be done.

Than who?

Sounds like projection to me.

Except there is a big problem if the avoided issue is central to the relationship

Same experience here with ex-GF a few years ago. Then it turned out it was always my fault that she ended up getting upset about being wrong... needless to say it didn't last.

However, I have met one lovely lady capable of straight talking. So I married her :D

Skype did a funny think to my 'phone last night. After having an audio only conversation with a mate, my handset decided not to play any audible alert when either sending or receiving text messages. I never got any calls so I don't know if that was also muted.
Anyone else had this happen?

Mark

Fungal infection or mental illness?
