Only two percent of the British public are considering upgrading their living room experience with a 3D TV according to a survey.

A report was conducted by YouGov for Deloitte which surveyed over 4,190 Britons on their attitude to 3D television and found that just 89 thought it likely they would purchase a 3D TV set in the next 12 months.

"It is remarkable how conservative people's predictions for their own technology spending habits over the coming year were," Deloitte media director Paul Lee said.

"They didn't have to commit to buying anything during the research and yet still predicted very little spend on TV products moving forward. Belts have tightened after the economic downturn and with little understanding of what lies ahead, consumers are still being cautious."

We managed to have a go on a 3D Bravia courtesy of Sony and had nothing but good things to say about it. Well, until we had a look at the price-tag that is.

current 3D is just manipulating the image to make it appear as though some 2D objects are closer than others, with a result that looks surprisingly like Duke Nukem 3D. i wont be batting an eyelid till we get holographic 3D

Until you don't need glasses will be the time for me.
