The PlayStation Network is set to go down for "routine maintenance" this Bank Holiday Monday, August 30.

Various components of the PS3 online service will be unavailable between the hours of 08:00 and 21:00 BST, says Sony.

"During this time you will not be able to access PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home or any part of Account Management, such as your Download List," it says.

However, the good news is you should be able to play games online and sign-in on the official PlayStation forums, Sony adds.

If there's any time NOT to do 'routine maintenance' it's a bank holiday weekend!

That's what I'd have suspected

The store is EU wide and it's only a holiday in the UK. However there must be 300+ days a year when there isn't a holiday anywhere in Europe so it's still a fairly silly decision.
