Call of Duty looks like it's left World War II in the past - if the words of Treyarch's Josh Olin are anything to go by.

"For us, I don't think we would go back because we've done a lot of World War II," said Olin in a recent interview.

"I'm not saying that the genre's done. It would be important that, if there ever were to be another game set in the World War II era, it would have to be something that's fresh and new."

World at War was an attempt at a fresh angle on WWII according to Olin, with the new location of the South Pacific and a different enemy in the Japanese army.

"It was a different game to the other World War II shooters in the franchise. So, as long as there's new experiences people will still play them," said Olin before talking about the new opportunity that Black Ops would provide:

"It is sort of refreshing to be in this new locale where we have all these new toys that we can play with. We've been making World War II shooters for a long time."

One thing that transcends time is a good ol' zombie apocalypse. Call of Duty: Black Ops zombie mode was confirmed earlier this month.

...

Probably currently for the best, though I guarantee they'll be back once new console hardware arrives...

Fight your way through the MOD taking out government ministers and rescuing the procurement officers from the dungeons.

The procurement officers need shooting too - and that's after torture to see if there was any backhanders going on

Maybe to capture documents, then side missions to buy the weapons.
