Hi all,

I'm looking for a PCI SATA controller (i.e. a PCI card that I can connect SATA drives to).
Firstly, does such a thing exist, and secondly, can anyone recommend one?

I don't need/want any RAID capabilities and would rather buy a say £50 for a better SATA controller than paying £50 and getting a cheap RAID card, if you know what I mean.

I've had a look around and not really found anything, I'm not exactly sure what I'm searching for...

Thanks muchly,
Ben

Cool, just SATA, I don;t have anything that supports eSATA.

My motherboard only supports 4 SATA drives but my case takes eight...I want to buy some 2TB or 1.5TB drives and pool them together to get loads of storage 8-)

is PCI-E alright?

the guys at bit-tech rave over this PCI-E SATA controller called a Highpoint Rocket 620, its the card they use to conduct all of their SATA 3 SSD tests. the model ive linked to only has 2 ports, but i believe there are models with more, if so required :)
