Does anyone else get the impression that the Nano and the shuffle are converging and that soon there will only be the Nano & the Touch. I don't necessarily have a problem with that but the Touch still hasn't got anywhere near the capacity of the Classic and costs way too much anyway.
Perhaps it's just me being in the grump old sod category that wants something to play music and maybe a few podcasts and even a video but doesn't want to also be able to browse the internet/iTunes from it. Meh!

As for the Apple TV, it's consistent with Jobs 'vision' that streaming is the future but I can't help but feeling he has a rather distorted view of how fast broadband is outside of Apple HQ or Job's Towers. I'm sure it all works spiffingly if you have a nice stable 10, 50 or 100 Mbit/sec ethernet or fibre connection but it'll fall over big time in a fairly large number of places, the UK included.

The classic is a niche market, and if I get another iPod it will probably be another Classic. The iPod touch can be replace by an iPhone.

Although I agree Jon, I wonder if Apple have just looked at the American market. Are US broadband speeds better than UK speeds? Are they more capable of streaming this without errors?

Better speeds and no caps, generally.

A lot of teens, through to about 26 don't watch TV, they just watch streamed content on their computer...

Edit: As to the Nano, I don't need a screen. When I am using my iPhone, it is 99.9% for audio. I listen to a couple of video podcasts, but the iPhone usually sits in my pocket or in the cupholder in the car and I just listen to the audio - I'd download audio only versions, if they were available...

I think that the US has lower speeds, though dependant on where you are.

Yes streaming is much more popular amongst the yoof. So this could be a long term winner.
