No I did not see saw. I considered going to see saw but saw something else instead. So no I did not see saw except in the playing fields.

There's a Hobo With a Shotgun trailer doing the rounds (it was part of the Grindhouse 'trailer' reel, now someone's made it into a proper film), but don't watch it unless you want every major scene in the film ruined Seriously though, this looks like an old-style exploitation flick with Rutger Hauer in it

Romero remaking Argento's 'Deep Red' in 3D ClickyNO NO NO! Leave it the f*ck alone. I have a lot of time for Romero but he hasn't made a good film since the 80's. Come to think of it, neither has Argento but there's no way George Romero can do these films justice.

Damn my patchy Italian. I read that and though 'his gem chicken???' I'm still not sure why calling something 'his yellow gem' is a particular complement. Jon

Giallo (yellow) refers to the genre of thriller that Argento used to work in. This is because novels of that type were published with yellow covers in Italy. 'Gallino' is chicken

Ah, righto. I was actually thinking of the word 'gallo', which means 'cockerel'. As I said, il mio Italiano è irregolare Jon

More Judge Dredd news: "Sidekick" indeed! I'd never heard of her (though I saw Juno) but although she doesn't look like the comic version, she does seem to have that quirky beauty that defined the Anderson character. It seems that she'll be playing Anderson as just out of the Academy which gets around the fact that she'd be way too young otherwise. More here: Clicky

Fright Night - The Remake. The first one wasn't much good back in the 80's, but can you tell who has taken the role of Peter Vincent (played by Roddy McDowell in the original)?
