Personally I can't see the difference between HDDVD and BluRay. I mean picture quality only of course.
I know HDDVD has been phased out, but I managed to pick up the add-on for my xbox for £50, including 10 movies. Since then i've gone and bought another 4 or 5 HDDVDs at £0.99 each.
Now between DVD and HD media, the difference is astounding. However seeing as I don't buy new DVDs as it is (£12 for a movie that will give me 2.5 hours of fun, or £30 for a game that will probably give me at least 30 hours fun) it's unlikely that i'll be splashing out on BD simply for image quality.
It seems like a treat at the moment to watch films in HD =p

The only problem is you won't be seeing any more releases for HD DVD .

Batman Begins, Pitch Black, Twelve Monkeys and Transformers ... the only ones i can think of / remember. I also remember being really tempted by the 360 HD-DVD drives when they dropped in price to like £30... i actually think the local blockbuster actually has one in stock.... Is tempting for cheap HD-DVDs but ultimately i might invest in the slimline PS3 if it comes out to act as the BR Player up here.... if i don't get a standalone one in the next few months ¬.¬

hi all, i thought the wife had been posting my naked pics on the internet again but then i noticed there was no "." (that is a point) in there back to the blu ray question,i have 84 blu ray movies and 2 blu ray players (one in the bedroom) but then i can make the most of them as i have a full hd 50" (ooops its that size and inches thing again) tv and 7.1 hd surround sound setup and believe me watching the likes of transformers on a big tv with dts hd master surround is amazing.my wife loves watching films as much as me too which is a bonus and as for prices of discs, asda sell for £15 each or 2 for £20 and amazon as shed loads of deals. cheers spunky
