I had the same setting, although I thought it got removed with the previous privacy shake up. I'll have to have another look!

*edit* You only have a choice between Everyone and Friends of Friends now. You used to be able to set No one! Rubbish

You can set it to me only.

I can't. Have you taken a look lately?

I'm assuming Marks situation is because we don't have any mutual friends, but I used to set it so that people could message me, but not request me. Now, I have no choice but to put up with requests from people who fundamentally misunderstand how little interest I have in them.

I looked just now. You can customise your privacy to "Only Me" if you wish. I have it for all my personal data.

Well where is it then?? I can't select only me for a whole load of my "basic settings" in the privacy section.

It is on the custom settings even though it is the only new item.

Go to the Account drop-down, choose Privacy Settings.

Then you have to click the cunningly-disguised Customise settings link, and work from there.

;)

Ok, everything in there is already set to Only Me, except the middle section i.e. wall posts, comments, pics and videos.

Not one of those options is about search visibility or friend requests.

The setting I'm talking about is in "Basic Directory Information" under privacy and the top two are "Search For Me On Facebook" and "Send Me Friend requests". The search one can be set to friends only (which is where mine is at), but the second one only allows Everyone or Friends of Friends.

So what can you all see, that I can't???

Aha! I see what you mean, now.

You can also see why Dave decided to ditch his account. It's simpler than it used to be but is still too complicated.

Everyone loves a full English breakfast, but the traditional greasy spoon has an image problem. I propose a chain of health-conscious caffs where the eggs are free-range, the tea and coffee are Fairtrade, and the sausages and bacon are cooked on George Foreman grills, right there at the table.

The grills are a bit mad, but he might be onto something there...

So, my 1300VA UPS is up and running. No more worries about power cuts shafting my PC.

Now the ADSL connection has dropped out - nothing to do with the UPS, the router has a separate surge protector.

ISP is running tests, to see if it's worthwhile calling BT, after satisfying themselves that I am not a moron. Cheeky bastards.

Having just watched "What would happen if you stuck your hand in the LHC?" I asked google to define "bra" by googling "define:bra" and the only directly correct answer (the quantum-mechanical notation) is absent. Just a couple of acronyms and the fact that it's short for brassiere. And a cheese.
Silly Google

bra means "good" in norweigan/swedish/danish based on the scottish word "braw" meaning "good"
