That was many years ago.
Tore 90% of my left knee.
I'd say nay, but things have changed. I hope.

Dad really pissed me off. Since his granddaughter has been born he's visited once. ONCE! And that was when she was born. He's been down here twice more but that's purely because he's had to come for an event of sorts i.e. helping me move house and for the Christening. He's not once suggested visiting or made any arrangements to do so. He even has an open invite yet nothing materialises. To be fair he works weekends but there's still plenty of other opportunity.

9 months.

So he's off work the other day and I suggested he comes down and his reply.... "you had last week off". Obviously reading between the lines he means "you had last week off, why didnt you come here?" Well if he bothered to find out anything about his granddaughter he'd know she was in nursery last week for the first time hence taking the time off work to help. We couldnt go anywhere. And what has that got to do with anything? He ought to make some effort to see his granddaughter, no? Not just sit at home waiting for us to turn up.

Grrrrrrrrrrr.

Dads and visits don't mix too well. They seem to have a sensitivity chip missing. My Dad never comes to see me but I have resigned myself to that now. Maybe you should try the direct approach and come out and ask "Do you want to come and visit your grandchild?" and see how he replies. Good luck!

It'll make sense soon.
I'm going to be tidying them up but didn't want articles from the main site autocreating posts in the news catagory quite yet.
Just got to tie the 2 systems together

So people drive me nuts. I need to apply a simple hotfix to get a program working on a vdisk server. The fix was given to me via a word doc and this was the first instruction:

Quote:
Copy w:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\MSAccess.exe to W:\Program Files\Office 2003\Office\MSAccess.exe

So now I end up looking stupid by repeatedly having to go back to this guy asking quesions about something which ought to be very simple becasue he cant document properly and he looks at me like I'm stupid. Firstly the W: drive is not present on the server, secondly the first location he gave does not have the msaccess.exe but subdirectories called Office10 and Office11 which contain different versions of the installed exe and thirdly the 'copy to' directory does not exist at all.

Dad's parents visited us about once a year when I was little. My Mum's parents couldn't drive but still got the train to come see us...
