Born in Cornwall, lived on a caravan park somewhere near Mevagissey I think. It was on a cliff, and I don't remember much more.

Moved to Northampton with my mother when I was 4 and stayed there until I went to uni and my parents moved to France.

Lived in a tiny loft in Oxford until about 14 years ago, when I'd finally saved up enough to buy my dream home back in sunny Northampton which is simply the best town ever.

Either 7,500,000 people are crazy, or you're wrong and London is actually a lovely place to live, with its fair share of arseholes like any other city on Earth ;)

Worked in London and stayed there for a while, it is a horrible place. I couldn't wait to get back out again. It is great to visit, for the museums and galleries, but it isn't a place I'd ever want to live in.

Birmingham is worse, in that it is all grey, but it isn't as crowded

If you count all of the places where I stayed for several months for work, that would be a loooong list.

A lot of them are IMHO. But I reckon a majority of the people who CHOOSE to stay do so for the opportunities - like Caz.

Well, we'd definitely got beyond the bf/gf bit, that's for sure. It was quite a serious thing for a while, otherwise I'd never have upped sticks.

I think there should be another word for more mature people who are in serious relationships and not married. Bf / gf is too teenage and partner sounds too formal.

Why is the best town ever? Got friends there and spent a lot of time there so I know it well.

Was born in Salisbury, lived there until I was 20, went to Uni in Edinburgh so lived there for 2 years, came back to Salisbury, then moved to Abingdon when I was 22, and I'm still here now - also work in Abingdon.

Primarily because it's where I live, and it would seem a few other 404umers too

I was being ever so slightly sarcastic. I do think it's nicer than some towns, but it's really very average. Neither big nor small, expensive nor cheap and very well connected for travelling. I can be in Nottingham / Birmingham / Cambridge / Oxford / North London in about an hour by car. The Virgin to Euston takes about 40 minutes, and Manchester not much longer.
