Given the number of albums I buy ( about 3 per year ) it doesn't matter what they cost, within reason.

I doubt it. I don't have the desire to buy loads of albums, regardless of how cheap they are.

As I usually only buy albums once they have fallen into the bracket where they are in decent special offers in HMV & the like then I almost certainly would by more albums if the only cost a pound.

I do like albums as they can be several good tracks on there that didn't make it as singles or out on air play on the radio.

I would buy a lot more. At current prices people are put off. Though a pound an album would make a huge difference to download stores. Who would buy a track for 79p when you could get an album for £1?

Nope.

It's a long time since I heard a band I liked enough to bother hearing one of their albums more than once.

If albums are a £1 each, it removes the concern over whether the album is good enough etc, because at that price you don't care, you'll just buy it and see.

+1

£1/album is worth a punt - even if it turns out to be a $h!t€ album. Anything more and it has to be good or something i really want before I buy it.

Yeah but at £3 a go I can drink lovely beer in a cosy pub in a beautiful spot.

And the music comes free. ;)

I would but a more sensible price would be £5 for new releases & £3 for older albums. The same should go for DVD's.
I buy a lot more DVD's & Albums when they're at that sort of price.

I think what is more telling for me was when things like allofmp3 were about I bought tons of music, because it wasn't ever a risky investment at $2 ish per album. Spent a hell of a lot more than I do these days, and that was as a student without much spare income.

You bought mp3s???

I would absolutely buy more, although I think Saspro's suggestion might have some mileage.

what has pie got to do with albums btw? :x

Where have you been? Pie appears in nearly every poll we have.

Talking of pie we had chicken in puff pastry pie yesterday. Oven is crap at the moment so it could've done with being cooked a but longer but I was so hungry scoffed the lot.

Regarding albums I remember the days when you had to buy the whole album but now we have iTunes and MP3 downloads I guess a lot of people are just buying the tracks they like.

Not just you. I know a number of people who wait till prices are sensible. My cousin is watching a 60's series box set which has been gathering dust at £70 in HMV. It has been on the shelves for months and the dust is clearly showing that no one is even looking at it. We both have £10 limits on new DVDs and much less for the majority of DVD's.

No. I buy what I want to buy now (which in all fairness isn't much, but that's not the cost so much as it is the quality of music published these days).

I'd buy more if they were cheaper. I fancy the new KOL album but I checked at HMV and its on order for £8.99. For that price I'll probably shop around on the net or wait for it to come down. If on the otherhand it was 4 or 5 quid I'd buy it on the way home!
