Wolverine is the best by far.

Wolverine is gay. X2 is the best by far.

Avoid "The Other Guys" at all costs!

Aye, it's when the Pope had them hunted down and slaughtered when he felt they were getting too powerful IIRC.

There was something likeable in it!? It wasn't just not unenjoyable for me, I found some of the sentiment really quite obnoxious, especially the ending.

Taken?

Like Jon says about QoS, the first ten minutes of T:S are good, then it becomes 'So we need the characters to move location, better introduce a new Terminator model'

Taken's practically old skool :geek:

Wolverine reeks of idiotic studio involvement :( , hopefully the sequel with Aronfsky (spelling?) will be better :)

Speaking of Wolverine, rubbish CGI really needs to be sorted out - is it a case of, 'We've hired the nerds for a set fee, might as well get the most out of 'em!'? See The Expendables, The A-Team... Or rather, don't

Yes and yes. Great choices.

Haven't seen any of these, and I'm not sure when some of them hit DVD:

Salt, Inception, Knight and Day, Edge of Darkness, Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

Come to think of it, one action film I really liked was The Peacemaker which starred George Clooney and Nicole Kidman as reluctant partners tracking stolen Russian nuclear missiles. I'm not sure why this film isn't more highly regarded as it is much better put together (and acted) than these films usually are. It keeps up a fairly frantic pace as Kidman's character (a UN weapons expert) uses various surveillance methods to try and find the missing nuclear weapons while Clooney's Special Forces Officer is straining at the leash to go in all guns blazing.

As I said, it gets relatively average reviews and while it isn't a masterpiece, I think it's a bit of a hidden gem. There's a trailer here.

QoS is a great film. Seriously! Just take off the Bond blinkers and feel the wrath of an embittered man. It's quite satisfying.
