Just done a test on compressing a 50mb picture heavy presentation on mac and PC. The PC version could get it down to 8mb yet the mac version could only shave off 4mb. Anyone else done any work with them and could shed some light on it? I'm absolutely disgusted myself.

I assume you mean Office 2010 & 2011 or is that the year the machines were made?

Unless Caz is a time travelling Mac user, I doubt her Mac is from 2011

Yeah Office 2010 is the PC version and Office 2011 is the mac version. That's what they're called.

Isn't this down to what compression software you use, and the settings within each program?

It's built in to the Office program on these versions. Crappola!

Zip won't be enough. Needs to be uploaded to a government controlled website. Just was curious as to why the 2 versions did not do same thing.

It's MS. They just don't want you using their software, clearly.

Both MS Office.... EDIT: they only want you to use their software on PCS :-p If they did a lot more people would be buying them

If anyone is remotely interested you can't compress files in older version formats, they would have to be updated to the current version. IE if you're sent a 2003 file you would have to save up to 2010.
