Went to Selfridges (Brum) today. There's a lovely new ice cream place called Morellis Gelato. Proper ice-cream dishes - the kind you see in America. Had a dessert with three scoops of ice-cream, a chocolate 'cup' filled with what tasted like cornflakes in chocolate sauce, whipped cream, hazelnuts, chocolate sauce and obligatory wafers. Took two of us to finish it!

Yum!

It's okay - it was before 3pm. That's my cut-off for things like these since they can continue to keep me up.

What won't help is the fact that I finally got some sleep last night around 3-4am. Hence awoke around 10am with 6 hours' sleep. Consequently, I will be awake until around the same time. The way to beat this for me is to try and get up tomorrow around 6-8am (though having a minimum 8 hours'). This will help reset my body clock. I need it to reset or when I go back to work on Monday, there'll be big problems!

There's a coffee shop on the high street that makes their own on the premises, and OMG it's the stuff dreams are made of.

I'm pretty sure I could eat just ice cream for a year and not be bored of it. I love the stuff!

Not if you make it yourself. My ice cream contains cream, eggs, sugar and vanilla. And nothing else.

Lots of things contain seaweed. Like toothpaste.
It's very good for you, if it's from a clean source.

The best ice cream parlour I've ever been to is in South Kensington, I forget the name but I'll try to find out.

Recipe linkypoos? At the risk of turning x404 into a forum for housewives and new mothers...

I am seriously considering buying an ice cream maker. I like the idea of making my own using no more than the necessary ingredients.

There are two great ones there now
A Gelato place and then a bigger icecream parlour that has opened in the last 6 months or so

Its great having one - if you can afford it get one with its own freezer rather than one you need to put in the freezer. That way you can leave it out and use it regulary

That’s the kind I’m thinking of - partly because the bowls in the cheaper ones won’t fit in our freezer. Ice cream tubs do, though.

I met a guy in Rome (we were both tourists) who had an ice-cream shop in Bridlington. I think he had Italian family. Anyway we visited Brid the following summer and called in. Cracking homemade ice-cream! Not as good as the chocolate stuff I had around the Trevi Fountain mind you.
