Don't know if it's because it's a Monday, but I didn't find that very funny at all.

I didn't find it funny but the opening paragraph made me chuckle....

Quote:
SEBASTIAN Vettel marked becoming the youngest F1 champion ever by embarking on a marathon knucklefish session behind KFC.

I think Martin Brundle mentioned it on Sunday that Barachello made a good point about F1 cars already having too many buttons and gizmos to keep an eye on in the car, that's without the reintroduction of KERS and adjustable rear wings. Though, I suspect as Barachello is one of the old guard, this is perhaps where next year the younger drivers will cope better... the PlayStation Generation!

Maybe this is a way of getting newer, younger and cheaper drivers into F1?

So, Webber didn't do too badly over the last few races. Nothing to be ashamed of at all.
Even more impressive is the fact he did the last 4 races with a broken shoulder.

Yeah! All he does is sit down for a living! He's hardly an athlete of your calibre. ;) :D

Just been browsing through the BBC formula1 site and noticed that they are already counting down to the next GP, 93 days to go. :)

Also just seen that from 2013 engines will change. Down from a 2.4l V8 producing 750bhp @ 18000rpm to 1.6l 4 cylinder turbo producing 600bhp @ 10000rpm, with another 150bhp being provided by KERS.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

F1 cars running on a four pot? WTF?

But then, a 1.6 four pot turning out 600 BHP!

It's to promote smaller but more powerful (and therefore more efficient) engines to the public.

i.e. if an F1 car can go that fast with a 1.6 then maybe I don't need my 3+ litre turbo Audi R8 (or whatever).

In terms of BHP per litre I dont know many cars more efficient than producing 750bhp+ with 2.4l (fair enough they turn at 18k rpm!)

But surely a 1.6l engine spinning at the same rpm producing 600bhp is going to be a lot more efficient than a 2.4l engine producing 750bhp?

I don't know the ins and outs of it all but all other factors being equal I would say the smaller engine is more efficient?
