On Wednesday evening I got back from an evening out to find the Wench in a bit of a state. She'd been teaching an evening class after school and as she was packing up to go home, someone had peppered her classroom windows with paint-balls, which had given her quite the fright (thankfully no physical harm). Yesterday she went back into school and discovered that not only had these people done her classroom, they'd hit other parts of the school, and a grand total of 60 other houses in the area.

And then bragged about it on Facebook.

Needless to say, the police didn't have too much of a challenge getting hold of the culprits.

Good.

I'm amazed how many stupid people there are out there. It's not a new thing, years ago I read in the local paper that a lad had gone into the post office to see if there were any jobs going. Later that day he went back and robbed things out of the shop.

It didn't take long to track him down, when he'd gone in asking about jobs he'd left his name and address so they could contact him.

Virgin Media.

Being a customer for the last 5 years and having moved once all ready in that time. They have decided in their wisdom that to put cable into our new place will require the written consent of the landlord. They didnt require it for our old property but to add to it, if we were a business they would have no problem and would install straight away even without the consent of the landlord!
They then said it would take at least three weeks to "arrange the installation".
If my wife didnt want to keep her email address, we would tell them to eff off and go elswhere!!

Do what I do and have a mail forwarder. I have had the same mail address for nearly 17 years.

Amazon fail
They've sent me a faulty printer, but I have to pay to ship it back to them.

Sales of Good mean they have to pay it back to you. If you receive a faulty item then you, by law, should not incur any cost in its return. Not many shops are aware of this though.

Only if it was bought in the UK

I thought Amazon operated from the Channel Islands like Play.com as a tax/VAT dodge... I mean tactical decision ;)

I think that EU regulations would apply.

Good point, I didn't know Amazon UK were based in the Channel Islands.

Although weren't Jersey looking into/implementing new laws last year? Not entirely sure when or what they entail though.
