Pay day gives you an even better feeling when you know you WON'T be going out tonight and spending a good chunk of it watching Harry Potter and going to Nandos (not that that would be nice, but I have longer term plans in mind :) )

If cinema and a Nandos meal make that big a dent in your salary then I feel for you! ;)

Well personally I can't afford to go out because my bills are so high. What I meant was if a £30 night out used the majority if a monthly salary then that's plain wrong.

£30 is not a majority of a monthly salary of course, however when you consider on average it's most of a day's pay, it still counts as a "good chunk". And I'm also considering that £30 would buy you a first class bus ticket with breakfast and meal, across half of South America. I value such "small" sums of money much more these days.

Slightly more than a days pay for some of us at the moment.

Reminds me of my sister. Not the younger one, but the older one. Seriously, you could call her and she would chat on and on and (I have done this), you could go to the toilet, urinate, wash hands and return, and she'd had have no idea yo had gone anywhere!

I'd have just told her to get out of the car and let me do it.

[the] sooner I can move out the better tbh.

I moved out and then moved back in again. Though this is because it's more convenient. I can either rent my own flat, commute to work, struggle for parking, get stuck in rush hour traffic orI can live at home and walk to work, saving money. I put up with the family so I can generate a decent-sized deposit.

The chain of events that meant a vegetarian friend
a.) Visited McDonalds
b.) Kicked up a fuss when she received chicken instead of whatever vegetarian delight she ordered
c.) Got the chap who served her fired on the spot

The whole circumstance has my head reeling.
You're a veggie, but you went to McDs.
If you weren't veggie, you'd have gone 'Mmm tasty chicken', but then I'd still think 'WTF are you doing buying [LIFTED] from McD's?'
Your lifestyle choice cost this fella a job, a month before Christmas. I'm sure he's a total numpty, but still. It's nearly Christmas and jobs aren't exactly falling from the skies down here.

[LIFTED] vegetarians.
[LIFTED] McDonalds.

This post has made me feel better about my life and worse about life in general. I'm gonna have to concur with your closing sentences those - 100%.

The stupidest thing is the only veggie food there apparently is the French fries. The Veggie burger or whatever it is can come into contact with oil from fish or something. There is no reason to go crazy. I've had incorrect orders before and just told them what I wanted. No point in kicking up a fuss - just makes you look like an idiot.

A mate, recently, was discriminated against at MaccyD's. He's black, Nigerian in origin and has a Nigerian accent, though speaks English. He finished a late shift, went to a cashpoint near MaccyD's, got a £20, went into MaccyD's and tried to order. The chump at the till refused to accept his £20. He looked at it and then told him it was counterfeit. My mate, calmly, explained he had just finished work, was hungry, had used the cashpoint outside and that it was genuine. The chump refused. My mate elaborated that the chump had not even scanned the note to check it wasn't counterfeit in any way. My mate got the manager involved. Long story, short: my mate got his meal for free, and the chump got fired for racial discrimination.

Seems a fair outcome.
