I'm putting off buying it until I can confirm one way or the other if I'm getting a wheel. Obviously I'd like a G27 and stand but might have to bring that back to the Driving Force GT. It's my birthday a month after Xmas though so I can see some potential to some 'combo' presents! I just dont want to play it on a pad.

I have it, but not played it enough to form a solid opinion. Part of me feels that it’s much the same as GT4 but in HIgh Definition, but I also feel that there is probably more which has to be unlocked as the game progresses.

The visuals of the high-end models are amazing but there's aliasing that's still noticeable. After playing need for speed undercover, I've found it difficult to get to grips with as all of the cars understeer. I need to 'reset' my expectations and start from the basics.
I bought the Signature edition. Spur-of-the-moment purchase which means I get a wallet, keyring, usb stick, die-cast car, and some books. Comes in a metal tin.

Enjoying it so far. I've got my B license already so getting back into racing. I've bought a Mitsubishi FTO to start me off and starting to unlock things.

^^^Have you managed to get gold in all of the tests? I'm struggling - silver is relatively easy to get but gold drives me nuts!

Does GT5 and or NFS work with Move and a steering wheel? Wondering whether to put them all on the Chrimbo list.

Wheel or pad? I'm slowly resigning myself to the fact a G27 is out of the question and I want to know if the Driving Force GT is a good enough substitute.

Pad! I have my PS3 in the lounge...using a wheel and pedals on the sofa just feels wrong...

No, and I don't see how I possibly could. Repeating the tests to the point where I can't possibly get any faster and I'm still nowhere near. I'm quite happy with bronzes though. You win a car for getting the license and depending on what medals you get determines the quality of the car. Think I ended up with a Demio. Oh well. I'm more interested in the races to be honest.

GT driving tests are infuriating.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.
