Is there any way to get rid of the "resend" box that comes up for approval every time you hit "refresh"??

IIRC you only get it if you try and refresh a page right after posting

There is s phpbb theme that is green and black, its very good for be readable and easy on the eye. Might look a bit zany but hey is very functional.

A couple of layout ideas (longer term):

1. Put the username/avatar etc over on the left where it belongs (Is that possible?)
2. Put some different smilies on, these ones are rubbish! I just like the old Dennis ones, personally
3. Clutter the forum up with annoying flash(ing) ads for crap I'll never buy, that obscure the forum content. I'll miss that. *
4. Maybe some sort of levels system? Not the awful botched dennis type one, but the proper integrated phpbb ones. I know everyone misses their levels. ;)

Otherwise it's looking good for starters, I'm starting to feel at home already!

*Just kidding. But in all seriousness, I personally wouldn't be too offended by google ads or similar, so saspro can earn a bit of pocket money from the venture...

1. No. Keep it on the right pl0x. If you want to change it I'll send Saspro the code changes for it.
2. I like these ones, but w/e. I'm not too bothered.
3.
4. We can have ranks based upon post count, but I'm not too sure about other things. I'm coming up with a list of MODs for the site at the moment, reputation mod anyone?

Nor me.

+1 for having the profile bar on the left hand side though.

I can't get used to it over on the right.

I am becoming accustomed to it.

I occasionally get a preview instead of a submit, but that might be might hamfistedness - or because someone has posted since I started to type. Oh, I like that idea!

I have now spotted the "form" note, but if you just navigate about using the links on the page instead of a refresh, you never see it.

The only thing I see a ranking/repping system good for is to allow for a classifieds sub-forum... beyond that I just see no reason for it.

Why not go the whole hog and ask for sponsorship from SCAN - Dennis did drop them also after all - and I think we've all had happy experiences with them? I know they've their claws in Hexus, and it might be going against the idea of this kind of community-collective effort... but revenue generation for Simon could be good (not that the lanky plank needs it - but his daughter could always do with more toys!)

I think sponsorship from Scan is a great idea. As nice and cosy as it is now, if Simon wants to make money (and I wholeheartedly believe that was not the reason he did this), he can and also, sponsorship from someone big could maybe help the forum grow as well.

Levels, errrm, no.
a.)No real need
b.)Some people might be childish about it/take it too seriously (especially if rep was involved). Maybe a "thanks" system or something would be good though and not competitive/able to be used as a weapon.

If we are to have a classifieds section, I say we have an account age limit, post limit and possibly manual approval just to make sure.

Urm.

1) Why?
2) Yes, and maybe a time limit
3) Yes, some sort of address/telephone system works well for OC3D, maybe a cut down version of it.
