OK, so I've just got an iPod touch - up to now, I've managed to ignore anything to do with iPhone apps but now I've got the iPod touch I might as well try a few out. Been looking on the App Store, but I must admit nothing really grabs me as something that will be useful.

So, suggestions please! What apps/games do you consider essential purchases? Are any of the free ones worth downloading? The choice is bewildering and it will save me the time wading through all the crap ones to find the nuggets of joy!

So far, I've only downloaded these free ones...
• BBC News
• iBooks
• Facebook
• MyCarCheck

...and these paid ones...
• Real Racing
• Silverfish

Ta!

eBay, facebook, twitter and tapatalk are the ones I use most.

The waitrose one has some useful cooks' tools and you can do your online shopping with the tesco app.

Cut the rope (game)
Angry birds (game)
Met office
Wordpress
Twitter

Well, they're my most used anyway. VLC may be worth picking up if you have a lot of DivX files...

Probably my most used apps that don't come already installed on the iPhone.

Thanks peeps, that gives me something to start with!

Have now downloaded a few more...
• Doodle Jump
• Perfect Photo
• TiltShift Generator
• TV Guide UK (Free)

Like the look of Format126, just for playing about, but tried downloading it and get...
"The availability of this item has changed. The same item may be available with a different price or elsewhere on the store"

It seems that developer's other apps have also been removed, I wonder why?

Tweetdeck
LinkedIn
Trillian (IM, I use it on the desktop as well, so single sign-in for all protocols)
Barcoo (barcode reader, which then searches over Google)
Around Me
Angry Birds

I have about 40 apps in total, but I probably only use 4 or 5 on a daily basis...

Many paid-for apps in there, but all ones I use on a (semi)regular basis.
