It is as I understand it (and IIRC) - M$ could somewhat hive IE off from the rest of the OS and secure the kernel the way Apple and Linux do. Again, IIRC, the thinking is that they'll be sued by the anti-virus companies :roll:

I think that the reason that they will not is that they have made such a big song and dance about the importance of the internet and cloud computing. It would look like they were wrong all along. I do think that splitting them would solve a lot of their other problems like the browser abuse problems from Opera.
