+1. Some of us are working over the Xmas period. Though strangely this'll be the first timd in my career where I am off both Xmas Day and Boxing Day. Added in is that I'm at home too. The crap thing is I'll be doing nights thereafter and although I'll have New Year's Eve off, I'll be sleeping, potentially missing midnight and sleeping through to New Year's Day.

Apple care. One of my new iMacs had a blown logic board, cost to replace without Apple care £610. Cost of Apple care £45. Result no cost to me, and instant entry to tales of win thread.

+2 My girlfriend is working on the 25th, 26th and 31st! I'm working up to the 24th and from the 27th through 31st... (In Germany, because Christmas falls on a weekend, Saturday and Sunday are the bankholidays, Monday and Tuesday are normal work days.)

I still don't know if I'm working Christmas or not.

Although my dauphinoise potatoes were a failure ( clicky), my cake was awesome! I used the 7-cup cake recipe from the bbc good food website: clicky. I used only two slices of bread to make the breadcrumbs (four slices were far too much) but everything else was bang on perfect. I cooked for three hours, not two and a half. Everyone said it was complete and utter win! (well, perhaps not in those exact words).

Forgot to add. Another WIN. Whilst playing black ops tonight, I decided to have another slice of cake (with cream). Killed a few people, got my cake and settled and hid in a corner of the map (Jungle). Finished the cake and killed two more people before the game ended. My score was 21 kills, 3 deaths. The next highest was something like 14 kills!

Camping, win or fail?

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Won a map and had cake? That is an epic win.

ROFL. Technically I wasn't camping - just hiding! It would be camping fail if I sat there, shooting at people but not getting kills and then getting killed. Definitely not camping win.

That's how I felt. Had my headset on and was laughing with a mate about it afterwards.

Nothing beats Quake for a friendly game of killing each other. I really should dust off my server. Does anyone still have Q3 Arena installed? There's an open sauce version too, but I usually play the original.

You know the area in that level that has a gun emplacement on your left, then you go further along and you come to a steep path with a barrel on your right leading to a bunch of huts? The foliage off to the left of the barrel is hilarious for hiding in

Got to give credit to the Toyota dealer in Derby. I turned up today with a car with a duff battery without warning. They fitted me in, order in the battery on same day delivery, fixed it, and gave the car a wash too. Not a bad price either.
