Just won an Intel i7 970 cpu so hope it arrives for Christmas It comes with a stock Intel cooler which I imagine is not up to much so can anyone recommend a good cpu cooler - I've looked at the Corsair Hydro Series but also seen quite a few reports of leaks

H70 or titan fenrir (or fenrir titan, whatever way around it is)

Both good choices, although the H70 works better in some cases than others.
I'd also look at the Gelid Tranquillo for something extremely quiet but almost as effective as the Fenrir.

You jammy git! Personally, I'd watercool it, so the H70 would be my choice. Bit-Tech hit 4.4GHz with a 970 using a Titan Fenrir but, if you're not overclocking, the Gelid Tranquillo is cheaper and a bit quieter (but a bit fiddly to fit). Bit-Tech review

It's a bit pricey. For that kind of money, you may as well buy a H70.

Thermaltake Frio seems to be well liked The Bit-Tech "premium player" PC spec for Novemeber (i7-950) says this...

Are you looking for powerful cooling or quiet cooling?

As if - you've had that 920 for nearly 2 years and still not overclocked it! You should be shot :p Tell you what, I can overclock it to 4.2Ghz in 10mins, so I'll happily do it for you! OP, the Titan Fenrir or Akasa Venom are both very good, a cheaper pretty much as good as the H70. EDIT: Hyper-linking doesn't work here?
