Flying out (hopefully) from Stansted tomorrow morning to Altenburg in Germany. That means, by a rather circuitous spaghetti of circumstance, that Mrs. Bucket and I shall have to set off around midnight. Joy

However, I shall be taking my tripod with me so I shall hopefully return with oodles of German Xmas fotos :D

Going to the doctor's today, pain in my foot isn't getting any better. Need some pain killers as I can hardly walk, seeing the orthopedic surgeon next week, just need something to tide me over until I can see him.

I had a lump of bone removed in the summer and I didn't have any problems, until a couple of weeks ago, when I stood too far back on the escalator step and the next step opened up directly against my heel, nearly pushing me down the stairs. Hoping it is nothing serious, probably just need to rest it for a couple of days, but with the new job, sorting out the new bathroom etc. I haven't really had any time to rest it :(

The bathroom is finished though! Looks great.

Lo.

Getting stir crazy. Bored with snow, bored with Best Beloved's sniffles, bored with the interminable run up to Christmas, bored already with the 90 minutes or so of half decent telly over the coming week.

I need a job. What can I do to convince people I send applications to that I am the person they want. I'm obviously doing something wrong somewhere to get only one interview since the summer. I am considering the possibility that I'll have to relaunch the freelance career in the new year after all. It might be the only way I get any money at all coming in.

Still, it could be a lot worse, I guess.

Good Morning all
A bit of a thaw at home – back in a suit after a couple of days in jeans as not tramping through the snow in my suit

Morning.

Usually, by now, I'm getting to feel a teensy bit festive.

Not this year. I'm afraid it's not going to happen at all this year. Christmas is a tawdry, over-blown excuse for gluttony. It ought to be banned.

And on that cheery note, compliments of the season from the Kay household.

Totally disagree Heather. I don't need an excuse for gluttony........

All the best to everybody for the bah humbug season though.

Morning all.

The joys of a 320 mile journey to Scotland beckon this morning. Could get interesting as there are problems on both the A66 and A69 at the moment. Hopefully they will have gone by the time we get there.

ANywho, have a great day folks.

Morning all.

Day off today so I got a nice lie-in (well until 8am which is good for me), time for a shower, breakfast then I'll pop in to town for some last minute Christmas shopping

Morning all :D

All the crimbo stuff is sorted (apparently) by the rest of the household :D
Just need to get some veg for the big dinner, maybe the mrs can sort that as well :D

Fire is lit so after taking the dogs for a gander we can all fall asleep in front of it when we get back into the warmth.
The car thermometer was reading -7 a few minutes ago.

Keep warm & safe over this festive season, especially those who aren't having a good time.Hope 2011 brings more happiness & good luck to those who need it :D

yours wecrookie
