Has anyone else here seen Iron Man 2? It's the most boring superhero film I've seen since Superman Returns :o :(

For the most part it just seemed to be a load of conversations padded out for two very long hours, with a bunch of crowbarred-in bits to drive Avengers hype...

Haven't seen it yet, it's one I'll watch over Christmas. Reviews had suggested it was OK but as no-one on the forum had put a review in the Film Review Thread I'd assumed that it wasn't going to be great, but 'boring' is the worst comment on a superhero film. I never found Iron Man to be one of the more interesting characters anyway but I did enjoy the first film. Spawn was awful and I remember it being boring because it was endless CGI. Daredevil I've kind of blanked from my memory but I've got a feeling that it was very dull too.

The funny patter from the first film remains but it's usually strained, and it's got almost none of the pace or excitement (I was in the same boat regarding the character originally)... I've a funny feeling Favreau was thrown into a spin by the studio announcing the release date before he even had a clue what he wanted to do with it (hence walking away from the third)

Want to know whom Tom Hardy is playing in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES?

Posted by Jett @ 4:13 PM on Thursday, December 16, 2010

So do I, but I can't tell you that...because I don't know.

However, I can tell you who he is NOT playing: Hugo Strange.

This comes to me via a very solid source, so you can at least start heading to the bank with it. Who IS Hardy going to play? We'll know in early 2011...or so I hear.

Hmm, I wonder if the Penguin's in with a shot (assuming Hardy IS playing a villain)...

More Liefeld coolness. Spiderman and his magic pelvis.

Perhaps not the word I'd have chosen...

:) The above pic is from the Gallery section on his own website so it's presumably the work he feels most proud of. Here's another one to show that he's determined not to tackle that 'hands holding swords' thing.

Doing better on feet though!

I've a funny feeling some of his 'art' is in the Deadpool collection I'm trying to buy...

You'd be correct; Liefeld is co-creator of the character which really should red-flag it as unsuitable for anyone over 12 years old. Liefeld is even trying to get a movie made about Deadpool....probably because he hasn't got enough money yet. Just the art alone means it's a non-purchase as far as I'm concerned.

I know where you're coming from, but this is about the only collected origin story out there, which is what I need really...

Is the movie related to the Ryan Reynolds attempt at a standalone Deadpool film? Best thing about the Godawful Wolverine, but that GL film doesn't look like it'll help his cause

That's about the height of that story really, and it makes me wonder how the Hulk fits into it...

8-)

Oh, and Portman's out of the running (pregnant for one thing, denies knowing anything about the movie rumours), not that we even know who she might've played...

It seems we've gone too far back into 'cheesy' territory with comic book movies if recent trailers and snippets are anything to go by :(
