just modified my 8bit addition machine built in Minecraft to handle buffer overflows, so a light comes on if the output is over 255 :D

i can use that to zero the output when an overflow is detected (prevents erroneous outputs being read by the operator), which will basically mean sticking AND gates on all the outputs, or inputing to somewhere in the XORs to force the output off when the overflow line is triggered, which ill do once i have enough redstone :)

It's weird, but discovering The Prisoner is quite "geeky". Discovering Ironside is a bit "old gentleman" - it's the sort of thing my old man might collect

IT LIVES!!!!

ended up trailing the overflow line along underneath the input + carry XOR gates, to torches that sit under the XORs output torches. when the overflow line flicks on (eg during an overflow) these torches light up, switching off the output torches, rendering that bit 0. the carries between bits still work though, so it can be undone by simply removing torches till the output is !>255, rather than having to link up a reset line :D

theres much more to it than building CPU parts (or whole ones, in some cases), i just did this because i got bored of twatting cows with a sword and digging for treasure, which is what 90% of the userbase spend their time doing :D

the other 10% spend their time building bigger CPU bits, Awesome houses, the El Castille Temple from Chichen Itza(shown about 2 minutes into the vid), the Starship Enterprise and other impressive stuff :)

It struggled a little, but then it decided to not let me down.
