Anyone else had trouble accessing x404 this evening? Couldn't make any progress for quite some time.

Twitter message from Saspro to me a couple of hours ago … "new server had to go in at short notice as their was a problem with the cluster. Datacentre are fine tuning all day.".

The name servers were down again. I got this error:

Nameservers for www.x404.co.uk:

* ns1.mediawebhost.co.uk returned (SERVFAIL)
* ns2.mediawebhost.co.uk returned (SERVFAIL)

As per timark_uk's post above, unsurprisingly Saspro was aware.

New blades went in last night for the nameserver clusters as well as new blades for the web farm cluster.
Give or take a bit of post-install troubleshooting things should settle down now (they'd better do after replacing that many servers)

Is there a max length of a VGA cable before signal degradation becomes an issue?

I have just managed to pair my new HTC Desire HD phone to the Hands Free Talk system in my car. In technological terms, this is the equivalent of climbing Everest whilst crawling backwards, without oxygen and blindfold :)

saspro, has the forum reply notifying email system been changed during the server upgrade? it seems much prompter than before, emails are near-instant rather than being 5-10 minutes after the post is made :)

Does anyone know how the giving someone of an honorary degree can cost so much?

Easy Tony Blair wants an envelope stuffed full of cash for him to attend!

Is that it? Does the degree come with a cash prize? I considered that but I'm still non-the-wiser.
Wikipedia doesn't help either.
