It's bloody brilliant. There's so many great offers on at the moment.

It is weird. I have iBank installed and it shows that as installed, but Compartments which is also installed is shown as an option to buy. I do think that it might be a better way of buying iLife apps. I might get Garageband without having to buy the rest.

I don't think any of my installed apps have been found. Is there anything I need to do to get it to find iWork, for example?

Check the version. I have iLife '08 but the versions on the app store are iLife '11.

It was in the Macuser newsletter today. Quite why I subscribe to it I'm not sure http://www.macuser.co.uk/3999-mac-app-store-opens-today

I have iWork '09 and the version of Keynote is V5.0.5, which is the same as the app store version.

I've bought Aperture for the £45 it is, I'm not sure I'll use it, but that's a great price!
None of my current apps are on there. I was surprised not to see Adium.

My iWork apps are marked as installed but they have not been updated to 2011 versions yet. So that works.

So mine should be marked as installed too, I guess. Hmmm. Most odd.

Thanks - downloading now. I don't know why, but I assumed it was coming with 10.7.

The Mac App store spotting you have an app somewhere on your drive doesn't really mean very much - it's just trying to be helpful and advising you not to buy it again. It won't update the version you have through the app store update mechanism and you don't get some of the niceties, but you also get none of the restrictions. For example Textwrangler is a free text editor you can either get through the app store or direct from the maker's web site. If you download the app store version however you lose a few (admittedly slightly esoteric) functions of the app, which the 'direct download' version does which breach the app store submission guidelines and which the developer had to remove from the app store version.
Basically, it saying 'installed' for an app you didn't buy through the app store means 'I know this is there, I'm telling you its there, otherwise I'm going to ignore it'.
