Yeah I've been waiting for ages for the next episode, I thought initially they'd just done two...

Not bad, not bad. The Atom race was fun although I did expect the bike to win. I kind of like the idea of the Yeti piece. If you think about it, every car that is really good at something be it going very fast or being very comfortable is probably also very bad at something else - being very comfortable or going very fast, usually. So if you think of all the things a car can be good at as sets in a venn diagram, somewhere there has to be an intersection point where it all averages out; a car that is exactly average at everything and therefore better at something than every other car. That's almost certainly going to be a car that you wouldn't think of buying because it is so, well, average. So it could very well be the Skoda yeti.
I like that Jag although it's entirely a concept car. John Bishop was an OK guest and, as it turns out, a stunningly good driver. And getting Sienna MIller in just to stick her head out of a glove box suggest the budget cutbacks may not be quite as bad as the press were making out.
Hammond's piece though I didn't like so much. He really does seem rather 'one note' about the 911 and the notion a modern 911 being better than an old beetle proves anything is bunk. If they want to do a stunt piece then just do it, don't have a boring film beforehand trying to justify it. And in the end the stunt piece was effectively a rehash of the 'Porsche Cayenne vs bloke in flying fox suit' thing they did a few years ago without being as interesting, because he was only racing gravity and doing it in a straight line rather than over a wobbly course.. So it was a bit of a damp squib ending.
But overall, a reasonable hours entertainment. And on a very shallow note, the woman stood on Clarkson's left when he was introducing the Atom piece was, frankly, astonishingly good looking.

The Skoda Yeti - has HK bought a car yet? Might be the one for her. Plus Sienna Miller... The Celebrity bit wasn't as good. I enjoyed the bits on the Atom and the Jag. Would love to see the latter in action. Hammond loves Porsches and has one. But I've never really liked Porsches so found it a bit boring too.

+1 to all but the Jag, it just didn't do anything for me. Where as that woman you mentioned... She looks very like a friend of Janet Street Porter (stay with me!) who was on Would I Lie To You? once

Personally, I felt the whole thing was shash. The show continues to b e largely [LIFTED] interspersed with a few interest set-pieces. Disappointing.

I liked it although they nicked the tattoo thing from Jackass and the Porsche/Beetle race from Mythbusters. Generally though I really liked it

I thought this one was passable, but we're definitely beyond the glory days of rocket-propelled small cars and the like

I thought it was okay, but nothing more than that. The road trip specials are the main reason I still watch, because catching a normal episode that is truly entertaining is becoming rarer every year. Funding will continue to dwindle, and it'll get harder and harder to make a good show. What a downer.

I've become so annoyed by top gear in the last few years, but i've recorded it anyway. I'm sure I'll be disappointed when I watch it, but I hope not.

Well...
John Bishop was good. Everything else was crap.

So who's the new Stig then?

D'ya know what? I don't actually care. At all. The Stig is a character, nothing more. Who is inside the suit is utterly irrelevant. Jon
