Two things today. The maserati gran sport is beautiful, so there is a more recent maser than the 3200 that I can dream of owning. And my accountant is a lucky, lucky, show off bastard with a beautiful looking and stunning sounding car.

Guys and girls, can you do an ordinary online bank transfer to a bank account in a foreign land, say North America? If so do they use the same account number/sort code system?

I don't know about online, but you'd need the IBAN or Swift number to do it at the counter. It was a bit of a PITA when I did it last, and cost me a bit extra too. Try PayPal?

As Alex mentioned you will need an IBN or Swift number as well as other details as the US probably does not use the same sort of details that we use in the UK, and may still need the aforementioned even if they did. If it is just a one off then paypal may be the easiest option, otherwise you may want to set up international transfers, which should be easy enough through online banking.
Whatever you do, make sure you keep all the records. I did an international transfer once over the counter, money never turned up and it took over 9000 months of investigation for both parties to realise that they didn't have a clue where it had gone. With the threat of extra fees for bank traces and the difference in time zones it was an absolute nightmare trying to get one of them to accept fault.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Makes us very insignificant in the overall scheme of things.

Just a quick note to mark the passing of film composer John Barry OBE, 77.
Among his many famous scores were From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Dances With Wolves, Midnight Cowboy and On Her Majesty's Secret Service.
That's quite some legacy to leave behind.

You're correct. He also did Starcrash the year before.

They played Out of Africa on Radio 3 this morning. Didn't know he did that.
Living Daylights is still my favourite though. Superb soundtrack. I even bought it on special edition import CD.

If this is related to football then it is a joke.
